A personal note from Sylvia
When I was speaking at a luncheon event earlier this month, I spoke of my recent journeys in Europe.
After I finished, it was the comments about travelling alone and being brave that filled my mind. And as I journeyed home from that event and the many days since my thoughts were on what it means to be brave.
True bravery is about shining a light on our own shadows. It is the courageous act of asking: "Why am I afraid? Why do I hesitate?" When we take that brave step into the uncomfortable, we realise that the darkness does not destroy the light; it defines it.
The courage to shine is not about being fearless, loud, or seeking the spotlight; it is the quiet, daily decision to be authentically yourself. It is the inner strength required to step outside your comfort zone, embracing vulnerability and letting your true voice be heard, even when it trembles.
Shining requires abandoning the masks of perfectionism and daring to show the world your unique, imperfect, genuine you. In my experience, this courage begins at the intersection of healing and self-acceptance. When we face our past traumas or insecurities and decide to integrate them as lessons, we unlock a powerful inner light.
It is the bravery to stop overthinking and start acting on your intuition, converting anxious energy into confident action. By daring, you turn your hidden, wounded
self into confidence, freeing yourself from limitations and emotional constraints.
Furthermore, as I reflect on those who are a lighthouse in my life, I realise the courage to shine is an act of service to others. When you shine, you show your integrity, resilience, and joy, providing a guiding light for others to find their own potential.
Ultimately, shining is not about being "better" than others; it is about honouring your own journey—your struggles and victories. It is a firm commitment to live intentionally, following your heart’s desires and allowing your natural, shining self to illuminate the world around you. It is the decision to find your voice, love without shame, and be the warrior of your own life.
From my heart to yours I send you love.
